So this time around, Google is turning Gmail into a social network called Google Buzz. Basically it's like FriendFeed in your Gmail. It lets you import Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, and Google Reader info and share what you're doing with your friends. It guesses which stories are more interesting to you, and it works on your phone.Is this the right approach? Maybe. There are certainly plenty of people using Gmail already, but do they want to turn their email into Facebook? And why is Blogger not included?Google Buzz doesn't ruin your email, so at least that much is working for it. When the option becomes available to you, you can click on the Google Buzz link to see your social feeds and then click on your inbox link to get right back to your Gmail business as usual.I'm still kicking the tires, but I think I might like this once I get used to it.
